James O'Connor has been left out of the Melbourne Rebels twenty-five-man squad for their Super Rugby tour of South Africa and Kurtley Beale has remained in Melbourne for further checks.
James O'Connor pulled a hamstring playing against the Reds on Friday night so he misses the tour which means his Super Rugby participation for 2012 is over.
The Rebels have a match against the Lions in Johannesburg on July 8, before travelling to Cape Town to face the Stormers at Newlands Stadium on July 14.
Kurtley Beale will remain in Melbourne and rest for the next two days, before being assessed by medical staff on Tuesday when a decision will be made on whether he will join the rest of the team.
