The Highlanders are rumoured to be chasing the signature of All Black and Crusaders prop Ben Franks ahead of the 2013 Super Rugby season.

Despite being contracted to the Crusaders until the end of next season, the Otago side are still said to be in the process of trying to lure the 28-year-old further south.

According to the New Zealand Herald, the versatile front-rower has been considering other options, after not being able to secure sufficient game time at the Crusaders due to competition from brother Owen Franks and Wyatt Crockett.

The Highlanders' management was unable for comment.
